Terms of service
Last updated: 29 October 2026
1. Purpose and scope
These general terms and conditions apply to orders placed by consumers on the ASADORI website.
Placing an order implies acceptance of these terms.
Sales to businesses or professional customers may be subject to specific terms.
2. Seller
These terms are concluded with ASADORI, a sole proprietorship under Belgian law. Its full contact details (address, company number, VAT number, email) are set out in the legal notice.
3. Products
ASADORI sells Japanese teas, tea selections, teapots, cups and other accessories for preparing and enjoying tea.
The essential characteristics of each product are shown on its product page.
Photographs and illustrations are presented as faithfully as possible. Handcrafted products, ceramics in particular, may show slight variations in colour, shape or finish.
The mandatory food information for teas is available on the product pages and/or on the packaging, in accordance with applicable regulations.
4. Availability
Products are offered while stocks last.
If a product is unavailable after an order has been placed, ASADORI informs the customer as soon as possible and either refunds the unavailable product or, with the customer’s agreement, offers an alternative.
5. Prices
Prices are shown in euros, including all applicable taxes.
Delivery costs are shown during checkout, once the delivery address has been entered and before the order is finally confirmed.
The applicable price is the one displayed at the time of ordering, unless there is an obvious error.
Pricing errors
Despite the care taken in managing the site, a technical, material or human error may exceptionally affect the price of a product.
If a price is obviously wrong, ASADORI may suspend the order and inform the customer of the correct price.
The customer may then:
- confirm the order at the corrected price; or
- cancel the order and receive a full refund of any amounts already paid.
No additional amount will be charged without the customer’s express agreement.
6. Orders
Before confirming the order, the customer can check the selected products, their quantities, the delivery address and the total price.
The order is confirmed once payment has been approved, and the customer receives an electronic confirmation.
ASADORI reserves the right to suspend or cancel an order in the event of fraud or attempted fraud, an obvious error, product unavailability or inability to fulfil the order.
Any amounts already paid for a cancelled order are refunded.
7. Payment
The available payment methods are shown when placing the order.
Payments are processed by Shopify and/or the payment providers available in the shop.
8. Delivery
ASADORI delivers to the countries and destinations offered when placing the order.
Delivery costs are calculated and shown during checkout, once the delivery address has been entered and before the order is finally confirmed. The customer can see the total amount, delivery included, before confirming the purchase.
Estimated delivery times are shown before payment.
Unless otherwise agreed with the customer, delivery takes place no later than the applicable legal deadline.
Where the carrier or delivery method is offered by ASADORI, ASADORI remains responsible to the customer for the risk of loss or damage until the order is physically handed over to the customer or to a person designated by the customer.
If a parcel is lost or damaged, the customer contacts ASADORI. ASADORI then takes the necessary steps with the carrier where required.
Where the customer chooses and engages a carrier not offered by ASADORI, the risk passes to the customer when the order is handed over to that carrier.
9. Incorrect address and uncollected parcels
The customer is responsible for the accuracy of the contact details and address provided when ordering.
If a parcel is returned to ASADORI because the customer provided an incorrect or incomplete address, or because it was not collected within the carrier’s deadline, the actual cost of a new shipment may be charged to the customer.
10. Right of withdrawal and returns
Except where the law provides otherwise, consumers have 14 calendar days from receipt of the order to withdraw. The withdrawal procedure, the conditions for returning teas and accessories, the return address and the refund are set out in the refund policy.
11. Damaged, incorrect or non-conforming products
If a product arrives damaged, incorrect or incomplete, or has a conformity defect, the customer is invited to contact ASADORI at contact@asadori.com.
To help handle the case, ASADORI may ask for photographs of the product, its packaging and the parcel.
This request does not limit the consumer’s legal rights.
12. Legal guarantee
Products sold by ASADORI are covered by the legal guarantees that apply to consumers.
Nothing in these terms limits the consumer’s mandatory rights.
For food products, the legal guarantee does not change their normal shelf life or the storage conditions stated on their packaging.
13. Storing and using tea
The customer is invited to follow the storage instructions on the packaging or product page.
Once opened, tea should in particular be protected from moisture, heat, light and strong odours.
ASADORI cannot be held responsible for any deterioration resulting from unsuitable storage conditions after delivery.
14. Information about tea
Information about flavours, aromas, preparation methods, temperatures, drinking traditions or other characteristics of tea is provided for information and educational purposes.
It does not constitute medical advice or therapeutic recommendations.
15. Artificial intelligence
Answers generated by artificial intelligence may be incomplete or contain errors.
The official information on product pages, packaging and in these terms always takes precedence over an answer generated by artificial intelligence.
16. Liability
ASADORI is responsible for performing its obligations in accordance with applicable law.
ASADORI cannot be held liable for misuse or improper storage of the product, failure to follow the instructions provided, or the consequences of force majeure, without prejudice to the consumer’s mandatory rights.
17. Complaints
Any question or complaint can be sent to: contact@asadori.com
ASADORI will first seek an amicable solution with the customer.
If a dispute remains unresolved, the consumer may in particular contact the Consumer Mediation Service in Belgium.
18. Applicable law
These terms are governed by Belgian law.
This clause does not deprive a consumer residing in another Member State of the European Union of the mandatory protections granted by the law of their country of residence.
